Parents’ Association

Monageer National School has an active Parents’ Association.

  • The Parents’ Association supports the Principal, Staff and Board of Management to promote a culture of learning, respect and gratitude in our school. It is an opportunity for open communication system between parents, school principal and Board of Management.

  • We organise and support numerous events to mark special occasions such as Fun Disco at Halloween, Santa Visit at Christmas, Pancake Tuesday, Nature Trail at Easter, Ice-cream at Summer and our annual Sports Day.

  • Providing refreshments for events such as Grandparents’ Day, after First Confession, at Annual ‘Garden Party’ etc. encourages informal communication and greatly helps to foster a sense of community within our school.

  • We advocate engagement in creativity and learning activities for the children through Christmas Card Design, afterschool classes e.g. Irish Music and Drama, assisting with Literacy Lift Off, Poster Design for events and our Reading Challenge.

  • We also promote online/in person workshops for parents/guardians through National Parents Council.

  • We fundraise to provide equipment/facilities/resources for the benefit of the staff and students in school. In the past this has included our walking track and the school Library.

  • We review and advise on school policies which are implemented and updated on an ongoing basis.

  • All parents/guardians are welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved in our school community.
