STEM education refers to the curriculum focused around the four disciplines – science, technology, engineering and maths. It introduces primary school children to science in a practical, hands-on, enjoyable and interactive way.
Resources from Science Foundation Ireland and Esero are used to structure lessons.
Children are tasked with asking a question, making a prediction, conducting an investigation and interpreting results. Teachers facilitate the investigations but children are encouraged to ask questions and solve any problems that may arise within their groups.
