Student Council 2022-2023
At Monageer NS, pupils from 2nd to 6th class, who wish to be on the Student Council, make a presentation to their class outlining the reasons why they believe they are the best candidates for the position. Each class then has a democratic vote and two pupils per class are elected.
Members of the Council meet fortnightly with Ms Doran or Ms Jordan. The representatives collect ideas or suggestions from all classes for the agenda. Ms Doran/Ms Jordan also put forward items for the agenda. Members of the Council must report the outcome of the meetings to their class.
Topics that come under discussion at Student Council meetings may include the following:
- school rules
- behaviour and discipline
- green issues
- health and safety
- homework
- friendship
- lunchtime games and activities
- school uniform
- fundraising
- extra- curricular activities
